Cold Mountain is a very good movie starring famous actors: Nicole Kidman, Jude Law, Renée Zellweger, .. The story occurs during the civil war. It tells the adventure of Inman (Jude Law) who will have to struggle against many obstacles to get back home. He is a deserter and the way back to Cold Mountain will not be as easy as he thought. At home, his lover, Ada (Nicole Kidman) is longing for him. Fortunately she gets the help of Ruby (Renée Zellweger) in order to save the deceased farm...
The story is based on a novel by Charles Frazier. So if you are interested in the story you are free to read it first (or not...anyway).The movie was a real succes and received one award.
In my opinion the film deserved the award because the intrigue is well put together and the actors are very good. The scenes of the civil war are bloody and sometimes it is very hard to realize that things happened in that way..Furthermore, the film offers a lot of suspense even if the end is not a real surprise because we knew from the beginning that the story is a drama..
